East Coast Underwriters (ECU) is a Managing General Underwriter, providing Medical Stop Loss Insurance to employer groups who self fund their medical benefits. Medical Stop Loss Insurance protects an employer's medical plan against catastrophic medical claims. ECU specializes on employer groups with 25-250 covered employee lives. In addition to Medical Stop Loss coverage, we also quote Life Insurance, AD&D, STD and LTD.
ECU is fully committed to the needs of our clients and strives to provide the highest quality of service in the industry. Our primary goal is to build long-term relationships with each of our clients. We achieve this by utilizing sound underwriting practices and claim management services through our “Medical Solutions” program in an effort to assist our clients control medical risk. Formed in 2001, ECU has managed over $100,000,000+ in Stop Loss business. ECU's success can be attributed to their partnerships with some of the strongest insurance companies in the industry. We underwrite on behalf of Pan-American Life Insurance Company (PALIC) and Starr Global Accident & Health Insurance Agency, LLC.
